A day-trip to Manhattan -- Part I - Chelsea Market
Avoiding the hustle of Times Square, I chose to explore the Chelsea area, spending a couple hours inside the Chelsea Market, taking a stroll along the cool, elevated High Line Park, and visiting galleries in the Chelsea Art District.
Chelsea Market
While I was heading to look for an entrance to get to the High Line, I ran into the Chelsea Market – what a sweet surprise! Here along the halls, vendors purvey everything from soup to nuts, noodles to donuts, wine to balsamic vinegar, salt to spices, cheese to cheesecake, fresh seafood to preserved meat…… The extensive selection of gourmet foods, the stripped-down brick architecture of the building, and sculptures, murals, and wall decorations inside give the Market a unique character – nostalgic and fun!
